facility with a retail storefront and a full service installation

The Beginning…
What started off as a hobby with a
few friends hanging out in their parent’s 2 car garage trying
to add more muscle to their cars and adding their own unique style
turned into a big late night crowd of car enthusiasts. The word got
out quick and friends of friends were asking come over to have their
vehicle customized. It finally got out of hand and realized they
needed to tone down the noise (yeah right) or go legit and open a
shop.
Pit Crew was established in the city
of San Gabriel, CA by one of the pioneer of the sports compact scene
Norman Huie in 1993. His envision of Pit Crew Motorsports was to
have a shop where all his friends and patrons can easily have access
to parts for their vehicle with experience mechanic to install it. It
was also a place where everyone can just hang out and share their
passion and hobby for the automotive sport.
One of the very first project we had
was a 1992 Honda Civic 1.6 turbocharged by DRAG Competition that
pushed this 125hp to 200hp monster which was featured in Turbo
Magazine 95’. Talk about “Old School”!
We take pride in being one of the
first few performance shops to cater towards the sports compact scene
when many great Professional Drag racers were in their premature
career.
